Alan Storey - Director
1966 - Joined Weatherseal Windows as an installer
1968 - Promoted to Area Controller
1970 - Promoted to Technical Controller for the whole of Scotland - (developing Scotland from virgin territory)
1976 - Left Weatherseal and joined Therma-Stor (a glazing company based in Perrivale, London as their North of England Technical Controller.
1977 - Promoted to General Manager in control of Production through to installation and after sales.
1979 - Requested by Chairman of Weatherseal Windows to consider returning as their Technical Director - controlling installation and after sales.
1981 - Promoted to Managing Director (Technical) responsible for factory production in addition to after sales.
1985 - Whilst retaining the above position, I was asked to accept a further position within the PLC - Group Managing Director of Twinglass the trade arm manufacturer of Double Glazing products i.e. Windows, Door sealed units etc., turning the company round in three years from one making losses to one making healthy profits. Also at this time I was appointed Divisional Director of the parent PLC, London and Northern.
1988 - Started ValleyRange Windows Ltd. servicing the retail trade out of a 17000sq ft factory employing in the region of 200 personnel.
2002 - Saw the sale of ValleyRange Windows Ltd and the inception of Fortress N.W.Ltd. |

Yvonne Carey - Director
1979 - Joined Weatherseal Windows of Oldham, the first and largest National Double Glazing Company in the country - Office Administrator.
1985 - Left Weatherseal and joined Mercantile Credit Finance Company.
1988 - Returned to the window industry: was asked to join Alan Storey at ValleyRange Windows as Assistant Transport Manager.
1990 - Promoted to Personal Assistant to Alan Storey (Chairman) whilst managing and controlling the Installation Department.
1992 - Promoted to Technical Services Director whilst retaining the position of Personal Assistant to Chairman.
2002 - Inception of Fortress - Director and Shareholder. |

Roy Carey - Technical Surveyor & Installation Manager
(The Gentleman of Technical Industry)
1990 - Roy joined the Industry as a fitter and utilised every opportunity to gain experience in the technical field and who better to gain that experience from than Alan Storey.
2002 - The inception of Fortress - Roy not only surveys each contract but installs a large proportion of the products ordered, which in turn means that the finished job is visualised at survey ensuring that the completed installation is perfect. |

Having spent 18 years selling in the construction industry (15 years with one Company) I ventured into the Double Glazing Market in 1994, initially selling windows and doors for a large local Company.
During the eight year period I spent working for this Company, I diversified into the design of conservatories which is a particularly rewarding area of our business now.
Having started with Fortress N W Ltd at is inception in 2002 it has been encouraging to see our reputation grow over the years, with customers coming back to us time and time again to purchase more products.
